How to prepare online Help using right-to-left languages

Postby ezHelp on Wed Jul 21, 2010 10:14 am

Dear Dennis,

I have been working with Dr. Explain for more than 3 months creating online Help documents in English. I should admit that it is very helpful in the process of preparing Help documents. As I've become so addicted to this application ( :) ), I'm going to prepare another online Help document using it. But this time, I need to type all the instructions in Farsi. It seems that Dr. Explain doesn't support Right-to-Left languages such as Farsi?
Your quick response will be highly appreciated.

Dr.Explain do support RTL.
There is a menu item in editor's pop up menu to assign RTL property to a selection.
Do you have a specific problem?

Good tip, thanks!
I faced these problems in my work:
1)I can not specify Farsi titles for the project tree nodes. In the output HTML, all the nodes (Menu items) as well as page titles are displayed with characters ?????????.
2)In the control description sections of a screen shot page, the control bullets and images are placed on the left. These problems really affect the consistency and appearance of the online Help page layout. Is it possible to handle this problem via Dr. Explain CSS Editor?
Thanks for your kind support and response.

Regarding issue #1: send your .GUI file to us via e-mail.

Regarding issue #2: you may align those images to the right border manually by setting them right alignment in image properties.

I'll send you my .GUI project ASAP.
BTW, Any tip for placing the control title on the right in the control description sections of a screen shot page?
Thanks

Click in the control title and press button "align right" in toolbar ;)

Please check the new Beta release:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=289&p=728#p728

Now you can apply Right alignment to all elements at once (i.e. it's propagated to all elements within tables).

P.S. We still need your .GUI to check the issue with ??????? in topic titles

A note for everyone who's interested in this case: the issue is solved.

Solution: Turn off "Check spelling in titles" in Application settings\Spell checking options.
This obsolete option will be removed from version 4.1 completely and won't bother you anymore.
