What is the 'images' folder in CHM Export settings for?

Dear Dennis,
As I know, Images are embedded in a CHM file. If so, what is the use of the folder specified for saving images in CHM Export settings ? Is it necessary to keep it after creating a CHM output?

This sub-folder will be compiled into CHM and it's not required to ship it with CHM. For CHM export, it's hardly required to specify it.
