[BUG] Search-Replace dialog misses text in tables!

Postby Marc on Fri Jun 18, 2010 6:55 pm

I noticed by chance that text in tables isn't found by the search and search-replace dialog.

Marc,

Could you send your project with that table and describe the way to reproduce the issue in details?

Hm ok, it seems I might have misinterpreted the situation... not entirely sure though. There seems to be a problem, however, the tables might have been a concidence.

Try the following:
Create a new project.
Delete the "insert description here..." line.
Type "a" enter "b" enter "c".

Now search for "a" (it will be found). Do not deselect anything.
Now serach for "c" (it will be found). Do not deselect anything.
Now search for "b". I won't be found.
Deselect "c" but leave the cursor behind "c". Search again for "b". It will be found again.

Since there is no "search up" or "search down" option in the search dialog, I think that this is undesired behaviour. This might also have caused the "table bug" but as I said I'm not entirely sure.

However, please fix the other problem if you can.

I'm now sure that the problem exists, as it happened again. Your search function misses text in tables.

I doesn't seem to happen all the time though, but the way it is at the moment, you never know if all text has been found or not.

Please investigate this.

Now I have. Problem is still there though. However, I found a way for you to reproduce it:

New Project -> put caret at end of line -> enter -> new table, leave all settings as they, make it 2 rows and 1 column -> put text 'aaa' in second row -> select standard text above table

Now search for 'aaa'. In my case it isn't found never.

Hope that helps and hope you can fix it now.
