Tools

The Tools Menu includes a set of auxiliary tools that are very helpful for professional help authoring: Context Help ID management and project validation functions.

Validation tool

The validation tool is one of the advanced features available with Advanced License.

The validation tool displays up to six tabbed pages for different types of errors and warnings:

1. Duplicated topic/page names

2. Broken links

3. Unlinked keywords

4. Missed topic/page names

5. Missed or invalid Alias/Help ID values

6. Duplicated Alias/Help ID values

Compacting tool

The Compacting tool is one of the advanced function available with Advanced License.

It allows to compact your project by removing at once all inactive elements: pages, topics, controls.

Assign Help ID

This command launches the Assign Help ID tool.

Remove Help ID

This command launches Remove Help ID tool.

Import map file

The command launches Import Help ID tool.

Export map file

The button launches Export Help ID tool.

Export sitemap file

The command will create a sitemap file in a pecified location.

Export sitemap index file

The command creates Google sitemap for your help pages.
