Capture Window dialog : General

Use this dialog to capture a window screenshot and to add it and its controls to the project. It's invoked by the Capture Window button in the application main toolbar.

 

Move the mouse over a window that you want to capture and then either ...

... press Print Screen keyboard button ... or

... hold Ctrl button and Left Mouse Click on that window ... or

... Left Mouse Click and Right Mouse Click simultaneously on that window ... or

... press the Snapshot button.

The checkboxes above the object type switch buttons indicate what objects should be selectable for further capturing when mouse cursor is over them.

 

If all check boxes are checked then the selection will be made in the same priority like shown in the dialog:

- HTML elements and tags in MS Internet Explorer (top priority)

- Accessible objects

- Win32 windows (lowest priority)

 

Uncheck any checkbox to exclude the corresponding objects from selection and capturing order.

The switch buttons work like tab control.

 

The first button with crosshair shows the Capturing Settings panel that allows setup the basic settings of the capturing process.

 

Other three buttons indicate what object is currently selected. There are three types of selectable objects:

- HTML elements and tags in MS Internet Explorer

- Accessible objects

- Win32 windows

 

Once the mouse is over an object the button of the appropriate type will be pressed automatically and the object details will be shown.

You may press another button to analyze the element under the mouse cursor as an object of another type.

Bullet placement

Use this option set to specify how to distribute the numbered callouts around the captured windows.

4 . Control paddingControl padding

Specify here how many extra pixels to add around the actual control area.

5 . Use virtual pointerUse virtual pointer

Use virtual pointer

If this option is enabled then you may press and hold the Right Ctrl keyboard button to lock the mouse cursor in certain position (e.g. over a certain button to activate its pop up tooltip). Then you may continue selecting windows \ controls to be captured with another, "virtual" cursor.

6 . Always  on topAlways on top

Always  on top

Check this box to make the Capture Window dialog topmost.

7 . Snapshot buttonSnapshot button

Snapshot button

It's just one of the four ways to capture a selected object.

8 . CancelCancel

Cancel

Press the button to stop capturing process and to get back into the application main window.
