Text macro variables

The Dr.Explain help authoring tool will boost your performance and productivity to a new level.

One of the features that will significantly increase your performance is the text macro variables.

The text macro variables are very useful if you frequently use the same portions of text in your manual, such as company name, product name and versions, contact details, and so on.

With the Dr.Explain you can define macro variables for such repetitive phrases and use them instead. On the screenshot below the macro variables are highlighted with light green.

Once you need to change the version number or a contact e-mail address throughout your project you will need to update just the macro variable value in the project settings. The Dr.Explain will automatically expand those changes to all pages containing that macro variable in the text.

Creating a professional help manuals for your software or web application with the Dr.Explain is easy and effective.
