Inserting special variables
You can insert special variables only into headers and footers in PDF export settings.
To add a special variable into PDF header or footer, click the arrow down icon next to
button in the editor toolbar, then go to Special variable menu and select the desired menu item:

The following special variables are available:

total pages.
Details about {Keywords} special variableConsider an example: topic "4.4 File Formats (BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF etc.)" has two keywords assigned to it: "JPG" and "Paint":
![]() If you add special variable {Keywords} into PDF header, in the editor it will be displayed like this:
![]() When you export your Dr.Explain project to PDF, this {Keywords} special variable will be replaced with semicolon-separated values of the corresponding keywords: "JPG;Paint" as shown below:
