Troubleshooting 'nothing was found' errors

When the search returns "Nothing was found," it usually means one of two things:
  • the search index is still being built, or
  • the language settings don't match your content.

Solution: check if the index is ready

After you first set up the search engine or update your content, it takes time to build the search index. During this time, searches may return no results.

To check if indexing is complete:

  • On any page, select a word from the visible content.
  • Copy that word and paste it into the search box.
  • Click Search button to search.

If you still see "Nothing was found":

The search index is likely still being built. Wait 1–2 minutes and try again. For large document collections, indexing may take longer.

If you've waited 5 minutes and still see no results:

The issue might be with your language settings. Go to Troubleshooting missing search results to check and fix the language configuration.
