Inserting text blocks
Text blocks are special content fragments that can include text and any editor objects, including other text blocks, with any level of nesting. You can configure their visual appearance and export settings to control whether the text block will be exported into specific format or not.
Using text blocks
There are two main use-cases for text blocks:
-
Visual emphasizing of parts of content: warnings, additional information, explanations, quotes, and etc.
-
Rule-based inclusion or exclusion of parts of content from exported document — for example, if you need to create a basic version of a topic for end-user and an enhanced one containing various notes and technical details for an operator of technical support.
Inserting text blocks
Click
button in the editor toolbar and select a type of text block to insert. You can also select content in the text editor and do the same. In that case the text block will wrap around the content you selected.

Afterwards, the following dialog will appear:

By default, a text block's design includes an icon and a background color. If you need to set export settings for a piece of topic's content, but don't need an icon, insert conditional text block via Special objects menu.
Text blocks settings
A text block has three groups of settings:
-
Main settings — such as block position and behavior.
-
Visual settings — appearance of the block.
-
Logic settings — set of logical rules that determine whether the text block should be exported into certain format.
To customize block settings you can use the icon buttons in the block header bar.
