Retrieving project updates
When you're working with a shared project, Dr.Explain stores the project's data in a local copy of the project. When a user makes changes to the shared project and sends them to the server, these changes do not become immediately available in the local copies of other users. Those users must first update their local copies in order to retrieve the latest changes from the server.
Your local copy is updated automatically each time you commit changes to the server. If you try to start editing an element which was already modified by another user, you might be asked to update your project (for example, when you're trying to edit a paragraph that was already deleted by another user).
To update your project manually, use one of the ways described below:
-
click
button in the main toolbar -
press F5 key;
-
go to menu Collaboration -> Update all.
Topics <without content>
When users add a topic to the topic tree, they edit a special project element — topic tree. This element is automatically sent to the server shortly after the topic was added, but the topic itself is not sent automatically — user must commit changes manually. When other users update their local copies of the project, they see a special placeholder <without content> in the topic tree instead of that topic. They can click that placeholder to view the description on the right side of Dr.Explain window.
